IT'S time to don those gardening gloves as committee members who run one of Teignbridge's many village halls call upon volunteers to join them at an upcoming 'garden makeover' event.
Ilsington Village Hall is set for a makeover on Saturday, August 12.
From 11am until 4pm, the Ilsington Village Hall Management Committee, which runs the village hall on behalf of the Parish Council and the local community, are calling for people to join them to help breathe new life into the much loved community space.
The committee want to: cut back and clear undergrowth; build new planters to provide a home for a new ‘village herb garden’ and install a new bench.
With the above achieved, the committee then hope to: plant sun loving and shade loving plants in the appropriate right places, add flowers and shrubs that will attract wildlife and, lastly, build homes for nature so birds, bats, bees and hedgehogs can visit.
Families are welcome, and refreshments will be provided.
