A MAN has sustained life-changing injuries to his face and head following an assault in Teignmouth in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police were notified at around 2.05am on Saturday, April 12, to reports of a serious assault on Dawlish Street, Teignmouth.
It was reported that there was an altercation involving a group of people.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital by an ambulance with facial and head injuries that are being treated as life-changing.
A cordon was established at the scene while officers carried out enquiries into the incident.
This has since been lifted.
A 31-year-old man from Teignmouth has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
He has been released on bail until Thursday, July 10, pending further enquiries.
