AHEAD of the this year's season, one of Teignbridge's outdoor swimming pools has completed the final phase of is energy saving project.
Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool has installed two variable speed pumps giving the pool the opportunity to save further on running costs.
A three phase electricity supply and the introduction of the solar array, means these new pumps can now run the pool more efficiently.
To date the pool have had to use two pumps to circulate the water, however with this installation the pool is in a position to only use one pump, which can also run at lower speeds at quieter times.
Chairman Martin Brealey said: 'In these difficult times for so many swimming pools, I am so grateful to our supporters, volunteers, contractors and trustees who have supported this project since its conception last year.
'We are, as all businesses, continuing to facing rising costs this year and beyond.
'Indeed, without the support of donations from our community this project could not have happened and thereby helping to future proof Bovey Pool, I thank all concerned.'
Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool's 2023 season begins on April 29.
