TEIGNMOUTH is all set to celebrate with a King Charles III Coronation Weekend at The Den in Teignmouth.
They are holding a two-day family friendly celebration on Sunday and Monday, May 7 and 8, with a marquee
Cllr Cate Williams, one of the organisers, said: ‘Join us for King Charles III Coronation Weekend at The Den in Teignmouth.
‘We have lots of exciting things planned for the weekend!’
‘There will be a Coronation Dog Show, Royal Art and Fancy Dress competition, live music and entertainment throughout the weekend, along with the Royal Ride Out and Bike Show with the Doom Riders and the Big Help Out plus much more.
‘We are also having a Coronation Car Event on the Sunday as well. Lots of classic vehicles arriving on the Den during that Sunday morning.
‘We have live music from Eva Parfitt Music, Amelia and Lois, The Pocket Treatment, Diantha Coombes, Isabella Nutton Music, Ollie Atkins along with music from our Churches who are working together to celebrate the King’s Coronation and Teignmouth Sings with their eclectic mix of songs.
The Teignmouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce have organised with local traders and businesses a window display competition throughout the town.
There will also be food and concessions available from Barney’s Hog Roast, The Salty Badger and their amazing sourdough sandwiches, Caribbean flavours from Daddy D’s, coffee and hot drinks from Crew and even a sweet shop... all this in addition to the wonderful array of foods and drinks which can also be purchased from local businesses..
There will be free face painting for children and adults over the two days as well.
‘This is a community event, we want everyone to have a great weekend celebrating the coronation of King Charles III,’ says Cllr Williams.
‘Even if you are not a Royalist, it is also an opportunity to come together with friends and family, to enjoy the events on The Den and especially for The Big Help Out, raising awareness and funds for our amazing charities and volunteer services.
‘Who knows, with all the stalls taking part, hopefully there may be something to help our community become much more involved with each other.’

Limited last minute entries will be available on Sunday, May 7, at 10.30am.
The Fur-Tastic Dog Show will start at 11am.
The DoomRiders will be undertaking the Royal Ride on Monday along with music, stalls, food and the Royal Art and Fancy Dress competitions!

‘We’ve really tried to keep everyone in mind.
‘This is a very important event as it’s been over 70 years since the last Coronation was held, so for the most of us this will be the first king crowned in our lifetime.
‘This has been a very special year for me as Mayor so to be able to celebrate this Coronation at the end of my term, I’m honoured.’
Events begin from 10am on both days.
