‘The police will continue to support the council in this matter.
The Travellers arrived at the park last Tuesday.
Five days ago the police reported: ‘We are aware of the unauthorised encampment that pitched up at Bakers Park, the council and police have taken positive steps today.
‘This morning we attended with Teignbridge Council who have issued them notice to quit, if they do not leave in the requested time then legal action will be taken against them.
‘We have also attended a second time this afternoon with the South Devon and Dartmoor Community Safety Partnership and issued a Community Protection Warning following several calls reporting various incidents.
‘If they breach this they will be issued a formal notice, a breach of a notice is fineable for every beach. It also gives us and the council power of seizure to remove anything that contributes to causing anti-social behaviour.
‘We encourage everyone to report any incidents to the police or Teignbridge Council directly. If you have any information or wish to report an incident in relation to the encampment then please call 101 quoting 50230217209.
‘In an emergency always call 999.’
