A NUMBER of people have been fined by South and West Devon Magistrates' Court for not having tickets to cover their journeys on Great Western Railways trains. Among them were:
Craig William Brownlow, aged 41, of Honeywell Road, Newton Abbot, was fined £40 for not having a ticket at Totnes Railway Station. He must pay £24.40 compensation for the ticket, costs of £180 and £16 to fund victim services. He pleaded guilty.
Jessica Elgie, aged 19, of Badgers Close, Kingsteignton, was fined £220 for not having a ticket at Newton Abbot. She must pay £21.25 compensation, £180 costs and £88 to fund victim services. The case was proved in her absence.
Helen James, aged 46, of Woodwater Lane, Exeter, was fined £220 for not having a ticket at Teignmouth. She must pay £7.10 compensation, £180 in costs and £176 to fund victim services. The case was proved in her absence.
Wayne Jeffrey, aged 54, of Woodwater Lane, Exeter, was fined£220 for not having a ticket at Newton Abbot. He must pay £7.10 compensation,£180 in costs. The case was proved in his absence.
