ANOTHER long-established social club has fallen victim to the current economic climate, writes John Balment.

Highweek Family and Social Club in Newton Abbot called last orders for the final time yesterday and the keys are being handed back to the limited company which owns the building today.

It comes hard on the heels of the closure of the Abbrook Sports and Social Club at Sandygate, Kingsteignton, owned by ball clay company Sibelco UK, formerly Watts, Blake, Bearne.
