THE South Devon Railway held a three-day Winter Steam Gala over the weekend.
It featured three locomotives in steam, which include two visiting engines.
One of them was from the Gloucester and Warwickshire with visiting engine GWR 4-6-0 No 7820 Dinmore Manor.
The second engine was the Mid Hants Railway Ivatt 2-6-2 Tank No 41312 2-6-2 Tank.
Thomas Mills, of Dawlish, an experienced train photographer and regular contributor to the paper went along to take a look.
The gala weekend comes on the back of a very busy Christmas period with record sales of tickets for The Polar Express™, which has been running on the scenic seven-mile line from November right up to Christmas.
South Devon Railway general manager, Ernest Elsworth-Wilson, said: ‘We’ve had a fantastic response to The Polar Express again this year and the feedback we have had as been wonderful.
