A THOUGHTLESS thief has made off with part of Teignmouth’s very own crown and anchor display.

A lovingly-crafted crown, made by Teignmouth Post correspondent Christina Siviter, has been hanging on the anchor floral display on the roundabout opposite the railway station since last Wednesday.

However, sometime over the weekend it was removed by someone with wire cutters.

Christina discovered the theft on Sunday and was furious at whoever stole it.

‘’I worked on it for hours,’ she said. ‘It was made from wire and decorations, ribbons and pendants. I am really angry and upset about it, firstly for the theft itself, but also that it’s so disrespectful to do it over the Coronation weekend.’

Christina has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

‘I’d ask everyone to check your CCTV camera footage and if you do find the missing crown, please drop it into the Teign Heritage Centre.’
