THE six-week major makeover of the award-winning children’s play area at the Den in Teignmouth has been completed and will be formally re-opened tomorrow (Friday, July 22) at 1pm in time for school holidays.

Children will be able to enjoy a range of new equipment which has been installed as part of the refurbishment.

Councillor John Nutley, Teignbridge Executive Member for leisure, said: ‘We’re really pleased to be opening this newly refurbished play park in time for the start of the school summer holidays.

‘We’ve incorporated lots of new equipment and facilities, and many of the features are accessible for children with sensory, physical or learning disabilities.

‘We hope this fantastic facility for Teignmouth will be enjoyed over the summer by local families and visitors to the town.’

The equipment includes a range of sensory and inclusive equipment for age groups from two years up to 12 years that encourage play and social activity, investigation, problem solving and much, much more.

Some of the new play equipment includes a noughts and crosses play panel, a six metre high ocean giant multiplay structure, a Cocowave Pendulum Swing and more.
