Teignbridge's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

A38, from 7pm September 16 to 6am September 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Dartbridge to Ashburton Linhay carriageway closure for carriageway improvements. , diversion Dartbridge road, Ashburton road, B3352.

A38, from 8pm September 17 to 6am September 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Peartree to Ashburton, convoy lane closure for carriageway works.

A38, from 7pm September 18 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38 westbound, Goodstone entry slip closure for carriageway works, diversion via A383, Local road to Drumbridges and rejoin the A38.

A30, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Alphington to M5, junction 31 carriageway closure for barrier repairs, diversion via A377, Cowick Lane, Marsh Green Road West, Trusham Road, B3213 and A379, north to junction 30 for M5 and south to Kennford for A38.

A38, from 8pm September 23 to 6am September 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38 eastbound, Dartbridge entry slip road closure for sign erection, diversion via Ashburton Road and B3352 to Peartree.

A30, from 8pm September 24 to 6am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Cheriton Cross slip road closure for electrical works, diversion via A30 eastbound to Fingle Glen, /Tedburn St Mary and return westbound.

A30, from 8pm September 25 to 6am September 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Whiddon Down - lane closure for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
