TINDLE Newspapers Ltd ­weekly the Mid-Devon Advertiser series is to toast its 150th anniversary with a pint or two.

The Newton Abbot-based newspaper, which first hit the streets in 1863 and reaches almost 40,000 readers each Friday, has teamed up with Hunter's Brewery to produce Hop Off The Press, a four per cent session ale.

The draught beer will be available in 15 pubs across Teignbridge, the paper's home patch, and there will also be the chance to win a limited edition bottled variety.

A penny from every pint will go to the Royal British Legion, a charity favoured by the paper's octogenarian proprietor Sir Ray Tindle.
