PLANS to revamp the Alexandra Theatre in Newton Abbot have received overwhelming support.

 So far, more than 60 comments and letters of support have been submitted to the district authority.

A revised version of the plans are now available online at the Teignbridge Council planning portal.

An amended outline of the proposal’s boundary, which had included part of the market, has been corrected.

The proposal entails a new atrium entrance to south side, and first-floor eatery and food hall as a mezzanine and disabled access and associated works.
