DISRUPTION caused by Storm Henk has affected parts of Teignbridge today.

In Teignmouth, waves were reported to be crashing over the prom and on the Back Beach, boats were being blown about by the gusts of wind reaching 70 to 80 mph. 

A tree has blocked a road between New Park in Bovey Tracey and Liverton. 

Newton Abbot police say they are aware of reports of debris from roofs, power lines and trees. 

They are warning people to only travel if ‘absolutely necessary’ and take extra precautions to stay safe. 

Allow extra time for your journey and maintain plenty of space between other vehicles

Where possible, use main roads which are less likely to be exposed to fallen branches and debris and flooding

If you do come across a flooded road, turn your vehicle around and find an alternative route.
