BUSES across Devon are changing from September 3. Although many services have been increased in their frequency and coverage, some services in Teignbridge are set to be scaled back.
- The timetable of the 173 bus has been revised to improve the punctuality service, and will also serve Heath Cross, Whitestone and Nadderwater, with the arrival time into Exeter becoming slightly later.
- The 222 between Dawlish Warren and Teignmouth will be withdrawn.
- The 7 Service between Exeter and Totnes via Newton Abbot will have a revised timetable, in connection with changes to the 92.
- For the 2 Service between Exeter and Newton Abbot via Dawlish, the 0625 and 0655 Monday to Friday departures from Newton Abbot to Exeter are advanced to 0615 and 0645 respectively, ‘which is designed to improve reliability and punctuality.’
- Due to low passenger numbers, the Chudleigh to Totnes journey offered by Service 41 during South Devon College term time will be withdrawn, with Services 7, 13D and 39 to fill the gaps.
- Following a review of current Services X38 and 39, these services will be replaced by a new Service 38, as well as a revised Service 39. Stagecoach stated that the services were ‘not financially sustainable in their current format, primarily due to their high operating costs.’
- The 39 Service will now run from Bovey Tracey to Newton Abbot only, while the new 38 Service will run from Exeter to Ivybridge only. It will also be a less frequent service to the X38.
- The 88/88A/88C between Newton Abbot and Totnes will no longer be operated by Stagecoach and will move to Country Bus with a revised timetable from 3 September 2023.
- There will be some minor timetable changes to the 12 Service between Newton Abbot and Brixham.
- There will be a significant improvement to the Service 92 (Dartmouth-Totnes), with double the buses running, Monday-Saturday.
- There will be numerous changes to Exeter City Centre’s offering of bus services, which can be found on the Stagecoach website.
- Tickets for the Falcon service between Plymouth and Bristol will have to buy their tickets online.
