THE military jungle training of a Teignmouth estate agent helped to rescue two youngsters trapped in thick undergrowth on Haldon.
The young teenagers strayed from a path and became lost and disorientated while out for a Sunday stroll.
The lad climbed a tree to try to spot a way out, but the branch snapped and he crashed about 12ft to the ground, injuring his back.
They managed to call their parents, who were also on Haldon, on a mobile phone, but nobody knew exactly where they were.
Luckily Stephen Beasley was nearby with his wife walking their dog near Mamhead obelisk, and he immediately went to search for the pair when he heard about their plight.
