A HALLOWEEN Express will be running on the South Devon Railway tonight.
The train features a spooky run in the dark down the seven-mile route from Buckfastleigh to Totnes.
Dick Wood, of the railway, said: ‘The Express will leave bloodthirsty Buckfastleigh at 6.30pm, passing scary Staverton complete with ghosts on the platform en route, and arrive at terrifying Totnes at 7pm.
‘The wearing of scary Halloween costumes and fancy dress is encouraged.’
On arrival at Totnes families will be invited to take part in trick or treat games set up on the platform; listen to ghost stories in the station building; and then dine on Halloween-themed food including beef ghoulash, beastly burgers and horrid hot dogs, and a vile vegetarian option.
The train then leaves Totnes at 8.30pm, returning to Buckfastleigh at 9pm.
Throughout the weekend tickets for regular SDR services are half price, to mark the end of the main running season.
