A RECENT skittles evening raised some £500 for this year’s poppy appeal as players descended upon Kingsteignton’s Royal British Legion for an evenings skittles.
The singles knockout competition saw participants play for ‘The Presidents Poppy Appeal plate’ - there was also a raffle on the night; Kenny Le Gallais came out on top, beating the competition, including Sally-Anne Orton by just one point.
Kingsteignton Royal British Legion Club’s Julie Clegg would like to thank both the organisers and players.
The next Branch committee meeting is January 10, with the next club committee meeting on January 5.
Anyone wishing to add anything to the agendas can do so by writing to the secretary’s seven days before.
The club will be busy over December: a quiz on December 3 from 7.30pm; Kingscare choir on December 11 at 2pm; Christmas prize draw on December 16 from 8pm; Christmas Meat draw on December 23 from 8pm; Christmas eve disco from 8pm and finally on New Year’s Eve from 9pm entertainment from Over the threshold.
