AFTER a recent two-day inspection at Teignmouth Community School Mill Lane, Ofsted have rated the school as ‘Good’.
The school, which is now part of Ivy Education Trust has remained in the ‘Good’ category since their last inspection in 2017, although the framework has changed along the way.
The report was full of praise for the children, families and staff of the school, with particular positive comments about how the children love going to school, love to learn and feel safe when they are there.
The report is graded into 5 different categories of which the school were graded as Good in each section.
With strong references to the ambitious curriculum, the school’s Outdoor Learning facilities and the effective Leadership at the school, the school are already planning to go a step better at their next inspection.
Headteacher, Annabelle Thomas said: ‘I am thrilled that the hard work undertaken by staff at Mill Lane has been recognised – alongside the support from Ivy Education Trust, to continue to drive the school forward to where it is now.
‘In particular, the comments around SEND pupils thriving, our fantastic outdoor learning provision, reading being at the heart of our curriculum and our tireless work with external agencies to better support our families and community.
‘This is an excellent report that I am immensely proud of, particularly following a tough few years of the pandemic where education has been hindered. The children and staff were able to celebrate what we do well and I am so pleased that the wording of the report positively reflects what we see day in day out.’
