A school in Kingsteignton has closed today after students and staff were struck down by a diarrhoea and vomiting bug.

St Michael’s Church of England Primary school has closed for one day to enable a deep clean to take place to prevent the illness spreading further.

The school is due to reopen on Monday.

Public Health England advises that anyone with a stomach bug should remain at home until 48 hours after the last episode any vomiting and diarrhoea.

Anyone suffering with sickness and diarrhoea should rest and drink plenty of fluids.
