WITH Christmas fast approaching, the Salvation Army is calling on the Teignbridge community to donate new toys to its Christmas appeal to support families in need over the festive season.
Tesco’s are assisting with the annual appeal by providing a collection point in their Kingsteignton superstore.
Salvation Army church leader Major Nigel Byrne said: ‘Every year we ask people to donate new toys and gifts to our Christmas present appeal so we can distribute them to families whose children would otherwise not receive a gift.
‘Last year, we supported over 400 children with toys and already we’ve started receiving requests for support ahead of this Christmas.’
