THERE are plenty of events taking place over the four-day bank holiday weekend for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and Dawlish Coasters are joining in the celebrations by holding fun runs on Thursday, June 2.
Two runs are planned, a children’s run at 1pm and an adults’ fancy dress run at 2pm. Children can sign up on the day itself while adults need to register online in advance at race-nation.co.uk/register/dawlish-coasters/platinum-jubilee-fun-run. Unaffiliated entry costs £6 and affiliated £4.
It’s a 3.5-mile run from Dawlish to Dawlish Warren and back amd everyone who completes the course will receive a special Jubilee medal.
A spokesman said: ‘As a part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the town of Dawlish are putting on “Turn the Tide 2022” on The Lawn with a wide range of activities and entertainment for all and we’re delighted to have been invited to host some running fun.’
The Dawlish Coasters will have a stand on The Lawn on June 2, where you can learn more about the club.
The group meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6.30pm outside the Sports Bar in Sandy Lane, Dawlish. For more information go to dawlishcoasters.com.
