ROTARY Club of Teignmouth recently held a successful ‘Community Day,’ bringing together local smaller charities with an opportunity to promote their causes and to raise some funds.
The day was organised by Peter Maberly and the charities involved this time were, The Rotary club, Rotary Foundation in co-operation with the Dawlish Water club, The Teignmouth Food Larder, Shaldon Cancer Research Charity, Teignmouth Cemetery, The Gardening Club and the Orangery.
There was a steady stream of visitors throughout the day, many taking advantage of the delicious soup and a roll, and teas and coffee’s, expertly prepared by Sue Maberly and her willing team of helpers throughout the day.
Rotary funds from the day will be going towards Youth Projects, and each charity made new contacts and funds to support their causes.
There was a great sense of camaraderie throughout the day, and although it was cold weather outside, there was a happy feeling of warmth in the hall.
The club hope to repeat this event again, inviting other local charities to take part.
