WITH hosepipe bans now in effect in parts of the county, Devon’s reservoir levels are continuing to drop.

According  to figures released by the South West Lakes Trust for the week ending August 14,  levels are still falling as the drought continues.

Burrator Reservoir on southern Dartmoor is currently at 38 per cent capacity with 1,621 million litres still remaining.

In the Teign Valley the Kennick, Tottiford and Trenchford reservoirs were at a 43  per cent level with 855 million litres remaining of a total of 2,011 million litres.

Levels are still little better at the Avon and Venford reservoirs that are on  71  per cent  and 66  per cent  respectively, while Meldon in  north Dartmoor is at 43  per cent.
