A COFFEE morning is being held in memory of Molly Coombe, a benefactor of Bishopsteignton.

‘In Memory of Molly’ will be held at Cross Gate, Shute Hill from 10am tomorrow.

The occasion will include a raffle, with all proceeds donated to Bishopsteignton’s Healthy Living Group.

Molly died 11 years ago yet her legacy, which has been passed on to Bishopsteignton Heritage, is still very much alive today.

Her father, Phillip Coombe, fought in the First World War – and she had wanted his medals to be preserved by the legacy.

To honour Molly’s wish of having a museum built in the village, Bishopsteignton Heritage has promised to make it happen.

The scheme will allow for the showcasing of the village’s unique history for future generations to appreciate for years to come.

New properties are also being built on Molly’s garden in Flow Lane, and these will provide an income to fund the new archive and heritage activities.

Possible plans of a home and hub for the Heritage group are being discussed with the Community Centre for next year.
