AN Ashburton firefighter has won an award after being voted for by his fellow recruits.

Joshua Williams’ peers on Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue’s basic training course voted for him to receive the ‘Recruits Award’.

Joshua was given his award by Area Manager Wayne Rawlins.

A spokesperson for Ashburton Fire Station: ‘Our very own Joshua Williams won the Recruits award on his basic training course.

‘Great job Josh. Glad to have you on our team.’
