A POPULAR attraction in South Devon has extended its kids go free offer due to high demand.

Initially planned to end on August 10, the South Devon Railway (SDR) is extending its offer for kids to jump aboard the Explorer Express for free.

This come after the beloved railway’s latest attraction proved very popular.

The offer is now being carried on into next month to coincide with the return to school.

‘We were surprised by just how well the kids go free offer has been received and took the decision to extend due to the positive feedback from visitors,’ said SDR’s General Manager Ernest Elsworth-Wilson.

‘Family trips can be expensive and we always want to provide a great day out at a really affordable price.

‘This offer makes it even more value for money,’ he added.

Families are invited to embark on a memorable journey along the beautiful River Dart and take part in the exclusive Explorer Express adventure.

Children can pick up their explorer sheet from the ticket office and answer six questions along their journey.

Once completed, they can drop their sheets in the post box at the ticket office for a chance to win a Freight Train Experience for four people, valid until the end of the year (subject to availability).

Plus, every Friday during the Explorer Trail, one lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a Family Ticket (2 adults and 2 children), valid for 12 months.
