MEMBERS of the public are invited to join Kingsteignton Town Council for its annual full council meeting, where the new mayor is to be elected.

The meeting will take place in the Mary Hall Suite of the Community Hall along Rydon Road at 7pm on Wednesday, May 17.

The retiring mayor, Councillor Ron Peart, will call for nominations for the mayorship and put them to the vote; this will be followed by the Declaration of Acceptance of Office by the newly elected Mayor.

The retiring mayor will then present the Chain of Office to the newly elected mayor, who will then give an acceptance speech.

Elsewhere, councillors will be appointed to the various committees, of which there are eight: Works, Services and Planning, Finance and Complaints to name but three.
