FOND tributes have been paid to a young army sapper from the Teign Valley killed in a car crash near his barracks in Wiltshire.

Kieron Blight, from Bridford, aged 19, has been described by his commanding officers as 'the perfect soldier with a bright and exciting future'.

He was a passenger in a Mazda car which flipped over and smashed into a tree after hitting a kerb outside the army town of Tidworth on Monday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
