THE Teignmouth Post is celebrating this week after winning a circulation award.

We are bucking the national trend and actually increasing sales, when most other newspapers – weekly, daily and national – are either falling or remaining static.

The success has been recognised by our owner, Tindle Newspapers Ltd, which has more than 220 titles across the UK, with an award for the newspaper with the best circulation increase in the group.

Sales have increased by 65 per cent in the last five years, and we now have a readership of more than 3,400 a week.

Teignmouth Post journalist John Ware said: 'It is all down to team work – the backroom staff who lay out and edit the Post – and our many contributors and contacts who write regular columns, take photographs and provide us with news leads.
