Abbotskerswell Post Office will not reopen following the closure of the village convenience store.

Central Model Stores on Slade Lane, which housed the Post Office, closed on April 5.

In an information letter to customers, the Post Office said “we are not looking to replace Abbotskerswell Post Office.’ The decision follows what the Post Office describes as a review of its products and services at a ‘very detailed, local level, analysing customer demand and accessibility’.  

As well as postal services, Abbotskerswell Post Office enabled customers to make cash withdrawals, cheque deposits and pay bills.

Customers wishing to use Post Office services will now need to travel to Ipplepen or Newton Abbot.
