AN OUTDOOR swimming pool situated on the bank of the River Teign has expressed its thanks for the support it has received as it makes progress towards opening following a setback.

Chagford Pool was due to open for the summer season on May 27, but water clarity issues postponed the opening and the pool remains closed.

Took to its Facebook page to, first and foremost, thank people for their ongoing support and, second, reassure its users that updates on the pools statues will come as soon as possible.

A spokesman for Chagford Pool said: 'We remain closed at present, but are making progress and will bring you news as soon as we possibly can.

'We would like to thank you for the overwhelming and universal support and concern you have shown us in the past week.'
