NEWTON Says No have won two more seats on Teignbridge Council – bringing their total number to three.

Liam Mullone and Janet Bradford stole the seats from Lib Dem Mike Pilkington and Independent Ann Jones.

Cllr Bradford picked up 743 votes with her colleague and group founder Liam Mullone gained 596.

Richard Daws, also a member of the group fighting to stop thousands of homes from being built in the town, claimed a seat in Ambrook ward.

Kirk Field, who stood in the Bushell Ward, failed to pick up a seat, losing to Lib Dems Rob Hayes and Jackie Hook.

Cllr Bradford said: ‘I am feeling very good. We are all very thrilled.’

She said the group would ‘definitely’ start work scrapping plans to build more than 1,200 properties in Wolborough.
