THE newly-elected mayor of Bovey Tracey, Cllr Tony Allen, was presented with his chain of office by outgoing mayor Cllr Ulli Arnold at the town council’s annual meeting this week.
Cllr Allen, who worked in the IT sector before retiring, has been a town councillor for ten years.
Aside from working on council business, Cllr Allen writes a regular column for a community magazine and helps out with the Torquay United Ladies’ football team who play their matches at Bovey Tracey.
In his spare time he enjoys country walks, watching sports and playing petanque in the town’s park.
At the same meeting Cllr Avril Kerswell was elected the new deputy mayor.
