THE first success for the Conservatives was at midnight when they held the Swindon Constituency through Justin Paul Tomlinson who polled 29,431 against Mark Dempsey (Labour) on 21,096.

This time the Tory vote was up 3 per cent, but the Labour vote was 11 per cent up, with an overall swing to Labour of 3 per cent.
