TEIGN School’s Jack Horder has been elected as Teignbridge and South Ham’s member of the Youth Parliament.

The Year 10 student’s campaign aims to make parks safe and have less rubbish in public areas.

He also promotes anti-bullying.

A polling station was set up in the school’s library.

Jo Slade, library and learning resources centre manager, said: ‘It was lovely being involved with this election.

‘The students really enjoyed reading the candidate statements and deciding where to place their cross.

‘We are of course delighted that our very own Jack Horder was elected for the local constituency.’
