Drivers were stunned when they spotted a sheep trotting along the main road from Bishopsteignton into Teignmouth this morning (Monday January 6).

The animal was first spotted outside Morrison’s on the Teignmouth Road from Bishopsteignton. The runaway continued towards Shaldon Bridge before detouring along the Avenues. It was eventually captured by police officers near the Golden Crown Chinese Takeaway near Bitton House.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police reported that ‘police were called to reports of a sheep walking on Teignmouth Road, Teignmouth, at around 11am today, Monday January 6. It was taken from the road and left in a field where it was believed to have come from and the landowner was informed.’
