‘WE’RE on it’... that was the reassurance police officers were giving the community in Newton Abbot today, Thursday, following recent incidents of anti-social behaviour.

The neighbourhood team for Newton Abbot were holding a street surgery next to the clocktower in the town centre.

The idea was for members of the public to discuss any issues they have or simply to say hello and meet the team.

Among the visitors was Newton Abbot manTrevor Wright, pictured left, who said it was good to meet members of the neighbourhood team.

PC Jo Gilbrook said of recent anti-social behaviour: ‘We’re on it!

‘We are working on that every day and we are meeting young people and discussing the issues with them and we have a good working relationship with the local schools.’

The team said it had been a good opportunity to meet people and discuss any issues they had.

Problem parking in the town had been raised a number of times and they would report back on that.
