POLICE are hunting a knifeman who was spotted near Newton Abbot’s Co-op store.

On their Facebook page the town’s police station has said: ‘We are aware and investigating an incident that happened on Friday night near the CO-OP, Ashburton Road, where a suspicious male was seen with what is believed to be a knife.

‘If you saw anything that may assist us then please call 101 quoting 50230010130.

‘We are treating this incident seriously as you’d expect us too and encourage anyone with information to make contact.’
