Newton Abbot’s first five Plastic-Reducing Business Champions are revealed.

Take a bow: Stoneman’s Deli, Westaways, Cressicks Green Eco Supplies, Pharmacy Cafe and Express Pasta Company.

These five business pioneers took the ‘Plastics Plunge’ and have been rewarded for their efforts.

‘It takes a re-think but once you decide, there are plenty of alternatives out there,’ says Liz of Stoneman’s Deli.

Helen Chessum, of Newton Abbot Plastic Free team (PFNA), says: ‘All five businesses are looking at reducing their plastics use even further – simply brilliant, thanks! ‘It’s good for your business in attracting new customers keen to put their money where their heart is.

‘More and more people are aware of the dangers of plastic pollution in our waterways and seas, as well as on our streets and in our parks. These shoppers are actively seeking alternatives. Our main target is the single-use plastics.
