MORE than a dozen fire crews, including several from Teignbridge, helped tackle a large warehouse fire on the outskirts of Plymouth.
Initially, the fire service sent three appliances to Langage Business Park in Plympton after receiving multiple calls about a large fire, but this number soon reached 13 as the scale of the fire became clear.
The fire engulfed the whole building and led to a partial collapse, the fire service has said.
Crews, including from Ashburton, Buckfastleigh and Newton Abbot, worked through the Tuesday [October 29] night to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent industrial units.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘The cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed as crews are still damping down and monitoring hotspots.
‘The company was closed at the time of call and we are happy to report there were no casualties.’
