A PARISH council on Dartmoor is considering setting up a group of volunteers to repair potholes.
Widecombe Parish Council is gauging interest among its parishioners about setting up a Road Warden Scheme.
A formal agreement between Devon County Council and town and parish councils, the scheme allows communities to organise and carry out minor works, namely pothole repairs, to the carriageway.
Devon County Council provide the materials, equipment, training and public liability insurance.
Other work includes clearing weeds, cleaning signs, cleaning drainage, cutting grass and repairing finger posts.
‘All we have to find are some volunteers who are happy to offer a few hours a month to help fill the holes’ a spokesperson for Widecombe Parish Council said.
