Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has honoured two new firefighting recruits from Teignbridge after they passed their initial skills course.
Highest performing new recruit, Charlie Plyer from Newton Abbot fire station, was awarded the coveted Silver Axe for displaying and maintaining exemplary standards in all aspects of the course. The silver axe recognises the trainee firefighter’s contribution during their course and their commitment to the service.
Joshua Williams from Ashburton fire station won the Recruits Award, which is voted for by other trainees on the course.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service area manager presented Charlie and Joshua with their awards at a ceremony after the course.
