A SECOND group of travellers has set up camp in Dawlish.
The first group of up to eight caravans arrived at the Sandy Lane leisure centre ground last week.
As the first encampment left, the second wave of vehicles arrived on the site.
Teignbridge District Council serviced notice to evict the travellers last Thursday, July 14.
They moved off the site overnight, but by then another group moved onto the field yesterday, July 18.
The council has now begun new eviction procedures on the new group of travellers.
Run by Teignbridge Council, the leisure centre has been able to continue operating as usual.
A spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said: ‘One of the two groups of travellers has now left and we will be clearing the rubbish left behind during the course of today.
‘Notice to quit was served on the second group yesterday and we are following the legal process through the courts to evict them.’
