VOLUNTEERS were out in force this past weekend as a town council hosted a community litter pick.
Kingsteignton Town Council hosted the event on Sunday, March 24.
Following a health and safety briefing at the Community Hall, 35 residents including Councillors Ripping, Field and Scagell eagerly collected their hi-visibility vests, litter pickers, bags and gloves and set off around designated areas around the town.
The group returned with 26 bin bags of litter.
‘It was lovely to see so many residents making the most of the opportunity to chat and meet with others’ a spokesperson for the council said.
Organised by Kingsteignton Town Council’s Events Officer, Bex Hooper, people willingly came forward to register for the event as soon as it was advertised.
‘It was very pleasing to know that the residents are keen to take pride in where they live and pick up after others’ the spokesperson added.
