DEVON and Cornwall Police received more than 1,500 reports of stalking last year, a Freedom of Information (FOI) request has shown.
In 2023/24, there were 1823 victims of staking reported to police, the FOI shows.
Of the total figure, 1520 were reported to be female and 288 as male.
The gender of the remaining 15 was unknown.
Stalking and harassment is when someone repeatedly behaves in a way that makes you feel scared, distressed or threatened.
If this unwanted behaviour happens two times or more, it may be a crime.
Stalking may include: following someone; going uninvited to their home; hanging around somewhere they know the person often visits or watching or spying on someone.
