RESIDENTS in Dawlish are due to pay a ‘modest’ increase in the town council share of their council tax.

The town council’s budget announcement has been approved by the full council for 2025 to 2026.

The small increase has been made to ensure the ‘continued delivery of services and new projects’.

The council’s key highlights include supporting local organisations and community initiatives through the Community Grants Scheme.

The council is also committed to investing in environmental sustainability with solar panels at the its headquarters at the Manor House to increase energy efficiency and bring down utility bills.

Among its other key aims is upgrading Sandy Lane Skate Park and renovating its community assets including the Manor House and Riverside Centre.

The council is also committed to providing events which will boost the town’s tourism and help support local businesses.

Following the town council’s decision, this means a Band D property will see an increase in its council tax of £2.97 per year or 25p per month.
