A MAN was trapped in his crashed car for half-an-hour after it damaged a power line pole on the A38 near Buckfastleigh during this morning’s rush-hour.
The driver of the foreign-registered silver Peugeot was cut out of the wreckage by firefighters using hydraulic rescue gear.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
The accident happened a mile outside Buckfastleigh at Dean Prior just before 6.45am.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident which closed the road for more than an hour.
All three emergency services attended the incident.
A police spokesman said the road closure was exacerbated by the power line damage.
