A MAN suffered serious injuries after his fingers were caught in a machine at premises on the Brunel Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot yesterday.

Paramedics were called to Brunel Road just after 1pm to treat the 40-year-old employee who was rushed by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment.

* Just an hour later a 54-year-old man suffered ‘nasty’ injuries in an accident with a chainsaw at Michelcombe Lane in Holne on Dartmoor.

The man suffered injuries to his hand in the mishap which happened just after 2pm.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
