AN Exminster man has elected to stand summary trial on charges relating to alleged burglaries.

Philip Neil Seaton, aged 41, of Milbury Farm Meadow, has been charged with entering The Boathouse at Dawlish Warren as a trespasser with intent to steal on December 11, 2022.

He also elected to stand trial on a charge of entering The Boathouse, access to Pavillion Amusements, at Dawlish Warren as a trespasser and stealing £60 in cash.

He is also charged with being at The Boathouse with an article for use of or in connection with a burglary – a crowbar. He faces a further similar charge involving a torch.

He faces a further charge of entering a Costcutter in Burnthouse Lane Exeter, as a trespasser with intent to steal to the value of £2,960.

The case was adjourned to May 30 for a case management hearing. He was remanded on conditional bail.
